Last year I was invited twice, to paint at a womens conference. These were mainly African-American women, & their worship & singing was definitely high energy! I had a wonderful time & it gave me a blessed inspiration in my painting. In fact, I am creating a series of artworks on this subject. This one is 16×20;& is for sale: 120.

This is a 30 inch wide round painting. I painted this during revival at Abundant Life church in Berea, SC. ; when people were receiving prayer, healing, and freedom in Holy Spirit. I stood by the musicians and painted this in 3 evenings. It was so peaceful & fun.

This is a dance painting. The lily is symbolic of purity & new life. The dance is an expression of joy & lively freedom. I used an intense color for the red dress; “Golden quinacridone crimson”. I enjoy painting black women with their beautiful Afros. To me, the afro appears to be a halo when the light shines upon it. Its feeling is like a cloud.
I used sheet music for her dress. I can’t read sheet music, but I love listening to violins when painting.
This artwork is on a 16×20 canvas.
The artist calling is to inspire. The Window of Vision liberates the viewer from the mundane & opens the eyes to see in a fresh revelation.

Awhile ago, I created n 11×14 artwork which I named “Cosmosville Spiral”; It was a fun, delightful portrayal of a swirling heavenly city.
So, I returned to that thought a few days ago & created this-“The Village of Raphael”- mainly beacause of the meaning of this name & also because I like it.

Once, some time ago, I lived in Italy for 8 years.. The classic scenery & the Italian obsession with beauty influenced my inspiration. Now it all seems like a dream.

This painting is inspired by a verse in the book of Hebrews chapter 13.
I was not raised in church or Bible reading. Yet, I remember as a child of 4,5,6,&7, longing for a lovely home full of gardens, harmony, & sparkles. Especially because of the untimely early death of my father, I desired a country where there was no sorrow or grief. I called this country ” fairyland”.

Finding the recent recording from Steffany Gretzinger very inspiring, I splashed some magenta and indian yellow on a canvas, added texture, & let it dry. As I gazed at the canvas, I saw a face, with what appeared to be a flying crown and a broken bowl with wine.
